Planes, Trains and ... Tuk tuks
During the past several months we have been blessed to criss-cross the country of Kenya. We have traveled by many different means- including planes, buses, trains, matatus, cars, motorcycles and even tuk tuks. What is a matatu? Matatus are the vans that are most commonly used to get around here- they are designed to seat 13 passengers, but are often overloaded to hold around 20 or more people. And a tuk tuk? Tuk tuks are three wheeled motorized rickshaw carts like the one shown in the picture.. We have been from Mombasa- on the coast of the Indian Ocean, where we have have the most southeastern churches to Kakuma in Turkana where we have the most northwestern churches- from corner to corner and many places in between.
In these travels we have seen God working- how encouraging to preach at one of the newest churches in Malindi, to show the JESUS film to crowd of around 100 in a very remote Samburu village where there is yet no church, to successfully drill our first water well, and to participate in baptisms in a refugee camp. We are truly blessed to serve in this country and to partner with the church in their outreach efforts. We can't thank you enough for being a vital part of these ministries.
