Miles add up as Darin & Jill crisscross the US
October saw the largest number of miles travelled during our home assignment—partly by car and partly by air. We thank the Lord that we were able to follow our planned speaking schedule without any health or travel-related difficulties.
We began the month in Southern California, drove to Western Washington after a speaking engagement in Central California, traveled to Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois, and closed out the travel with a drive across the Cascade Mountains to Eastern Washington. We enjoyed meeting friends new and old all along the way. Including “children’s sermons,” Sunday school lessons, retiree events, a harvest dinner, and Sunday sermons, we spoke 15 times.
One of the highlights of the month was spending time with our friend, Dr. Cathy Stone-house at her home in Wilmore, Kentucky. She introduced us to some of the sites of the area, and even arranged for us to see Shan Shan, one of our former students from APNTS who is now pursuing a doctorate at Asbury Seminary.
We are so grateful to the many friends who hosted us during our journeys. We really couldn’t have done this without you!
