New APNTS President to arrive in November

We continue to anticipate a return to ministry in the Philippines in January (contingent on completing our fundraising). When return to our home base at APNTS, we will meet the school’s new president, Dr. Bruce Oldham. Dr. Bruce was elected to the post just prior to the August 15 start of the new school year, and he visited the campus for about a week in September. (We, of course, were not there during his visit, as we continue our Home Assignment in the US.) Dr. Bruce and his wife are scheduled to move to the Philippines from their home in the US in November, when he will assume his day-to-day duties.
     As always, when organizations undergo leadership change at the highest level, questions and uncertainties arise at all levels. It is a little bit difficult for us to be away from the campus during this time of transition, as it feels like many changes are taking place without our knowledge or
input.
     Please pray for Dr. Bruce as he leads APNTS through the inevitable changes ahead. Pray that the Lord will prepare us to adapt to any changes that impact us personally. Pray that all changes will bring glory to Christ above all.

KFMC welcomes newlyweds

On September 17, Carlos and Joy Bating became husband and wife in Butuan, Philippines. Carlos and Joy have been young leaders at Kamuning Free Methodist Church (KFMC), our local church in Manila. They have served in various capacities, including helping with outreach ministries to disadvantaged children, Bible studies, and even preaching on occasion. Many KFMC members traveled to Butuan (on the southern island of Mindanao) for the joyous event. Please pray for Carlos and Joy as they begin their lives together as husband and wife. Pray also that their ministry will be even more effective as they serve together. May they be a source of encouragement to other young people at Kamuning.
