A quarterly prayer-focused note for SEED & livelihood groups
Main prayer focus: Asia trip
One of the greatest joys we have as a team is when one of us gets to travel to be with the livelihood groups. Recently Rose and Rachel, the professional product developer who volunteers with SEED, visited the Overcomers and the Dayanand Handloom group. We are amazed at how work and relationships can move forward quickly when we can be together in person! Timing for these trips is dictated by budget (donations welcome to help here!) and by our ever-growing set of partners! Also, the Dayanand Handloom Group shared that they have had a difficult year, that they prayed and fasted... and that our visit was an answer to that prayer.  That could explain some doors unexpectedly closing and the door to visit India swinging wide open. Thank you, donors, for helping be an answer to their prayers!

Some prayer requests coming out of this most recent trip:
  • the members of both groups to be strengthened physically and spiritually -- many face physical limitations and difficult circumstances with great hope and joy
  • both groups have several brand-new products they are working on (yay!) Pray for their continued creativity, access to the materials they need, and stamina and diligence to complete some pretty large orders
  • the Overcomers face challenges related to their building. Pray God will step in and resolve a sticky situation to enable the group to continue doing their great work
This year's SEED/ICCM Giving Guide was included with Light & Life magazine, increasing exposure in a dramatic way!
SEED in the US
We are in the middle part of a heavy schedule of Christmas lead-up events at churches and other venues, and the online, phone, and mail-in orders from the SEED/ICCM Giving Guide keep rolling in. Please pray for:
  • events and trunk shows to sell many products -- and collect SEED Capital investments -- for livelihood groups. Repeat from last time: Keep praying for this!
  • our ability to go beyond just "filling orders" and to be able to establish connections between the buyers/donors and the livelihood groups with whom they are partnering
  • conversations we have begun with a number of churches and conferences about stronger long-term partnerships
  • our planning for a busy January: annual inventory, gathering of SEED Champions, and the first of a series of FM conferences across the country
Praises and thanks

As we all think about Thanksgiving this week, there is much to be thankful for. Here are a few praises and thanks from our staff team:
  • We have begun working with new groups in Uruguay, Greece, Jordan, and the Canary Islands. We are so grateful for expanded opportunities to partner!
  • Champions in Washington, Michigan, Florida, and New York have stepped forward to further develop our ministry in strategic ways!
  • Rose and Rachel's time in Asia was full of terrific conversations, lots of laughter, and God's love. Rachel worked with the groups to improve existing products, and together they also created many more workable samples than we imagined!
  • Donors have contributed to help hire a communications person (Nicole) one day a week and underwrite 2-3 trips of SEED's international travel. (Pray for a few more of these folks, but what a blessing these donors have been already!)
